Privacy Policy

FocusEdge is built on a simple idea: a study switch for your own phone should not need to know anything about you or your child. This policy describes the little we handle and the lot we don't.

What the app does NOT collect

• No browsing history and no record of websites visited
• No record of which apps were opened or for how long
• No screenshots, screen recordings, keystrokes or notifications
• No location data
• No contacts, messages, photos or files

Study Mode is enforced entirely on your device. Blocking decisions are made on the phone in your hand and are never logged or transmitted.

Your account

Creating an account needs your name and email address (or Google Sign-In), used only to sign you in and manage your subscription. We store your Study Mode configuration (your allowed apps and websites lists) with your account. That is the complete list — there is no activity data behind your account, because none is collected.

What stays on your phone only

• Your PIN, stored as a salted cryptographic hash on the device (we could not read it even if we wanted to)
• The database of website categories used to block adult and unsafe content — it comes with the app, so blocking works even when you're offline

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active, but Google handles your payment details; we never see your card, UPI or bank information.

The website (focusedge.app)

The website is informational and collects nothing itself. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type) may be retained briefly for security.

Children's data

FocusEdge is installed and operated by a parent on the parent's own device. Children have no accounts, and the app collects no personal information about them. Because no child activity is recorded, there is nothing to disclose, sell or breach.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

• Accessibility — to detect which app or website is opening so Study Mode can allow or block it. Used for enforcement only; nothing is logged or transmitted.
• Display over other apps — to show the block screen when a non-study app is opened.
• Ignore battery optimisation — so the phone maker's battery saver doesn't switch protection off mid-session.

Changes and contact
